With the release of an untethered jailbreak for the new iOS 5.1.1, we felt it was only right to put together a collection of the best Cydia tweaks for new newly jailbroken device. Unlike other previous collections, all tweaks listed in this post are guaranteed to be compatible with your jailbroken iOS 5.1.1 device!
We told you about Unfold earlier when it was released, here. For those of you who have not heard of this new tweak, prepare to open your eyes to a new way of unlocking your iPhone. Unfold replaces the conventional ‘slide-to-unlock’ mechanism with a folding lockscreen that reveals your springboard behind it. Thanks to the ever-dedicated and talented jailbreak community, it has no glitches and unlocks smoothly without any faults. Information on how to download and install can be found in this post.
Are you getting tired on having to manually select text you want to highlight? True, Apple have done a great job making the iOS user-interface feel natural, but selecting text is just that tad bit annoying. Well, here is your Godsend. As the name rightly suggests; it allows you to swipe your text to select. Simple, eh?
SwipeSelection is available for free download from the BigBoss repository on Cydia.
Previously available on iOS 4, Barrel has been updated for the new iOS and still holds to be one of the best Cydia tweaks ever. It basically amends the graphic animation between scrolling between springboard pages, and turns them swipe on icons into a simple barrel roll. After installation, the app provides a settings interface where users can set exactly what animation they want – you aren’t limited to just a barrel-roll as shown in the image! Again, Barrel is available for free download from the BigBoss repository.
