78% Of Devices Now Running iOS 7

According to statistic published on the Apple Developer website, a staggering 78 percent of Apple mobile devices are running iOS 7.

Though no clear guidelines are given, we assume that this includes all devices which have access to the iOS App Store so it includes the first-gen iPhone and iPod Touch all the way up to the latest iPhone 5S and iPad Air.

The statistic show that 18 percent of devices are now running iOS 6 and a minute 4 percent are on earlier versions of the mobile OS.

78p Of Devices Running iOS 7

It seems that the biggest limitation stopping everyone from upgrading to iOS 7 is the restriction Apple have put in place. iPod Touch 4th-gen and earlier and devices older than the iPhone 3GS were not included in the iOS 7 update by Apple due to hardware limitations.

The large adoption of an upgrade to iOS 7 may also be down to the recently released iOS 7 jailbreak which has prevented users from running the latest version of iOS in the past.

Never-the-less the high adoption rate suggests users across the board seem willing to try a completely different approach to Apple’s redesigned mobile OS.
