Earlier this year we reviewed Misfit Shine, a fashionable fitness tracker with a hell of a lot of potential! Reports have now been confirmed that Misfit have inked a deal with Pebble to bring fitness tracking integration even closer to wearables.
As part of the deal, the Misfit app will be available to download from the Pebble appstore for free. With the help of the application, Pebble smartwatch wearers will now be able to easily track their fitness activities all in one place at a single glance.
The Misfit app for Pebble will also be able to connect to the iOS app to allow users to set goals, track their activity and add additional metric data. The iOS app already allows users to tweak metrics, add additional activities and share data with friends.
Pebble officially announced the deal in a blog post stating: “This is the first milestone in an ongoing partnership and collaboration between Pebble and Misfit that aims to provide intuitive health and fitness tracking for all.”
The smartwatch maker, which started off as a Kickstarter project, said it’s main focus right now is to expand software functions. Pebble already has fitness specialists in it’s arsenal but the company expects it’s partnership with Misfit to go even further, given they have been endorsed by Apple in an official iOS 8 advertisement!
