EaseUS Mac Data Recovery Software Review

If you’ve recently lost irreplaceable personal files or business-critical documents on your Mac, you’ll understand how very important it is to have a backup of your content. Whether or not you already use Apple’s TimeMachine feature, you should always have at least one backup of your important documents, photos and videos.

The Data Recovery Wizard can recover deleted, formatted or inaccessible files. It relies on a shortcut whereby OS X doesn’t actually delete a file when you permanently delete it. Instead, it makes that file inaccessible until a new file overwrites that particular sector on your hard drive. So as long as you run this software as soon as you notice you’ve lost a file, there’s a pretty high chance that you will recover it.

The application is compatible with all versions of Mac OS X 10.6 and above and is geared towards recovering files lost through power-cuts, accidental deletions, formats and hard drive disk corruptions.

Data Recovery Wizard by EaseUS has two modes. Quick Scan and Deep Scan. Quick Scan, as we found, can sometimes find your missing content and its usually a good idea to try this method first. If Quick Scan fails you can try Deep Scan which is more thorough and has a higher percentage of yielding a result in finding your lost, deleted or inaccessible file.

Scan results are displayed in a clean, Finder-esque, user-friendly interface where the user can preview each file before actually restoring it. This saves time from having to restore each and every file, a lot of which you may have purposefully deleted.

EaseUS Mac Data Recovery

This software does not make any changes to the files it rescues. It simply scans sectors of your hard drive where the file originally existed, and given that it has not yet been overwritten, there is a high likelihood you can recover your files.

One of the best things about this software is that it provides an intelligent method that allows the user to specify the sectors and file formats you wish to recover, however the preview function is not totally up to scratch and does not work with all file formats.

Though we would still recommend you do backup your Mac to an additional storage device regularly, Data Recovery Wizard by EaseUS is a great short-term solution to find lost files.

So, if you have files that you desperately need to recover, download EaseUS and recover up to a maximum of 2GB in the free version. If you like the software, you have the option to purchase it along with some other fantastic solutions which will remove all free-trial limitations.
